Zhu Miaoyong, born in June 1965, is a professor and doctoral supervisor, the vice dean of the School of Materials and Metallurgy of Northeastern University, the Minister of Education Professor Zhu Miaoyong, the Jiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, and the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund. National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young People (2009), Metallurgical Youth Science and Technology Award of China Metal Society, China Advanced Young Scientist of Metallurgy, Winner of "May Fourth" Medal of Shenyang City; Selected into the Ministry of Education New Century Excellent Talents Support Program and Liaoning Province New Century Thousand Talents Project Hundred Talents Level. He was selected into the list of the National 100 Million Talents Project in 2013 by universities directly under the Ministry of Education, and was awarded the title of "Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions". |
He is a director of the Continuous Casting Branch of the Chinese Society of Metals, the chairman of the Academic Committee of continuous casting process, a member of the Academic Committee of Metallurgical Reaction Engineering, an editorial board member of Journal Iron and Steel Research, International, and an expert member of TMS in the United States. Main research directions: high-quality steel refining, continuous casting theory and process; Metallurgical equipment technology integration and control; Metallurgical Reaction Engineering.
He is also the vice chairman of the Continuous Casting Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, the chairman of the Continuous Casting Process Technology Committee, the member of the Academic Committee of Metallurgical Reaction Engineering, the editorial board of JournalIron and Steel Research, International, and the expert member of TMS in the United States. Main research directions: theory and process of high-quality steel refining and continuous casting, advanced metallurgical equipment technology integration and control, metallurgical reaction engineering. Co-authored 3 books of "Mathematical And Physical Simulation of Steel Refining Process", "Application of Numerical Simulation and Analysis Technology of Metallurgical Process", "Computer Simulation of Metal Material Preparation Process", participated in the compilation of 2 works of "Continuous Casting Crystallizer" and "Practical Manual of Modern Continuous Steel Casting", independently completed 1 translation of "Tundach Technology for Clean Steel Production", edited 1 textbook of the professional main course "Modern Metallurgical Technology (Iron and Steel Metallurgy Volume)", published more than 200 academic papers, and was included in 62 articles by SCI and 87 in EI. He has cited more than 1,200 articles, won 10 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards (2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 4 third prizes), and 44 authorized and disclosed national invention patents. He is the main lecturer of the national excellent courses "Metallurgy" and "Introduction to Metallurgical Engineering", and the two papers supervised by him have won the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award. In 2008, he won the China Metallurgical Youth Science and Technology Award, and in 2012, he won the Wei Shoukun Youth Metallurgical Award.
